The Ladies 1s welcomed Firebrands 3s to Gordano for their first home game of the season.
After a comprehensive victory in week 1 spirits were high before push back. North immediately took control of the game being camped in the Firebrands half for large portions of the first half. A rare breakaway by the visitors resulted in a short corner. But the North defence snuffed out the attack before Brands could get a shot off. That proved to be the only threat on the North Somerset goal for the entire match with keeper Sinead Golding not having to make a single save.
It took North a while to break down the Firebrands defence but after 20 minutes Lara Ford-Urch found space in the D to fire home a cracking reverse hit and give North a deserved lead. The second goal was simply outstanding. Charlotte Millington cruised past the Brand's left back before driving along the back line and finished with a cheeky reverse shot into the bottom corner.
The second half proved to be more of the same with North dominating possession but being frustrated in front of goal. Then up stepped Becky Ford-Urch to give North the lift they needed. Her first goal was a sweet strike from the top of the D, she then doubled her tally finishing a well worked short corner with a flick into the net. Not happy with two she soon finished off her hat trick with a strong flick to cap off her man of the match performance. Michelle Harold got herself on the score sheet late on to finish off a superb performance by North.
Next week brings an early push back at local rivals Somerset Gyphons.
