Strong start to the season by U10s

Match report from Jason Barnes - many thanks Jason
13:15 - NSHC 4 v Redland 0

Barney 4

An early goal from Barney got North Somerset off to a flying start.
Some great passing from, Lexie, Katie and Oscar fed the ball to Barney in the D to score his second.
Shortly following the 2nd comes the hat-trick for Barney!
More determined than ever, probably encouraged by the promise of riches from his father Barney scores the 4th and final goal for NSHC to win 4-0 against Redland.

13:55 - Yate 1 v NSHC 3
Oscar 1
Barney 2

Off to a flying start 2mins in Oscar scores the first for NSHC.
Within minutes and still pumped from the first Barney scores the second.
A long corner for NSHC saw Lexie pushing it in from outside the D to Barney eagerly waiting to push home his second of the match.

This match saw the first short corner against us, leading the defensive charge Lexie, Charlie, Millie and Oscar alongside the eagerly awaiting, first time, goal keeper Toby were unable to stop Yate from sliding one past into goal. Final score a sterling 3-1 win for NSHC against Yate.

14:35 - NSHC 5 v Keynsham 0
Charlie 4
Oscar 1

An early advance from Keynsham saw the ball in our D with Toby clearing several times finally to Oscar who took it up the wing to Charlie who finished it off to score his first of the season!
Undeterred and with goals in site Charlie score his second
Shortly after Barney sets up the shot for an awaiting Charlie who slides the ball in past the opposition to claim his hat-trick!
Waiting in the D Charlie slides in a great pass from Barney.
Oscar narrowly misses a great cross from Lexie outside the D.
Great passing and defending keeping the pressure on Keynsham. Millie making some outstanding tackles and Katie winning several balls back, having a few cracking attempts at the goal and passing the ball well. The constant pressure and team work was amazing.
Final goal of the match comes from a determined Oscar who wins the ball from outside the D works his way in and slides it in past the keeper. The final whistle blew on another cracking effort from the U10’s, winning 5-0 against Keynsham.

14:55 - Old Bristolians 1 v NSHC 0

Tough well matched side with plenty of passing up the pitch, and most of the action in the oppositions end. When they finally broke through our defences Toby valiantly moved forward and kept the ball out of the goal, with the defence falling back to assist. In the end the ball snuck past the defences into the goal. A tiring 2nd match in a row with plenty of excellent passing but in the end the final score was 1-0 to Old Bristolians.

All in all a great afternoons worth of hockey, something that the U10’s can feel proud of and have done the club proud! Plus the green tops looked great!
