U10s get through to Quarter finals

Yate Hockey Competition 15th March 2020

U10’s on top form at Yate

Team: Charlie Tillotson, Oscar Barnes, Barney Lonsdale, Lexie Ainsworth, Ellie Scott, Toby Willcox (Keeper)

The rain was pouring and with just 6 of the 7 needed and no subs in the team, and a brand new player joining for the first time, NSHC took 2 phenomenal wins at Yate, playing some excellent hockey and making it to the Quarter Finals. When the rain finally stopped and the sun started to make a break-through, reaching the quarter finals was sadly the end of the road for the U10’s this year. Fantastic play by all. The team just keeps going from strength to strength every year!

1st Match Westbury B – Ellie’s first match debut holding a great defence line with Lexie. The trio of forwards - Barney, Oscar and Charlie - passing well between each other saw us 1 goal up, with Charlie scoring within the first few minutes. The second goal came from Charlie and the third before the whistle pushed passed the keeper by Barney. Final result 3-0 win to NSHC.

2nd Match Keynsham – After an hour off, and stocked up on sweets, we got going quickly with Barney scoring the first goal. Shortly followed by a great pass from Barney to Charlie making it a 2nd goal. More passing between the forwards and Barney put his second of the match past the keeper. Final goal of the match was Oscar winning the ball back at the half way line, keeping the ball in the air, shooting towards the goal keeper, skimming the side of their pad and aided past the line by the keeper. Final result 4-0 win to NSHC.

3rd Match Devizes – Another hour off and starting to get tired but the match started well with Barney taking an early goal lead. Devizes with a determined front line kept Toby and defence busy, but with Devizes having the stronger team (and one extra player) we saw 4 goals creep past a determined Toby at full stretch. Final result 1-4 Loss for NSHC.

Quarter Finals:

NSHC vs Chippenham. After a long morning of working together as a team and playing amazing Hockey, North Somerset put up a good fight against Chippenham but in the end was a 3-0 win to Chippenham.
